You Belong Here,
Whoever You Are

Spencer Church of the Nazarene has been a beacon of faith in Roane County for generations. We are a congregation rooted in the Wesleyan tradition — believing in a God of boundless grace who calls every person into a life of holiness and hope.

"We don't just want to fill seats. We want to change lives — the way Jesus changes lives."

Whether you are a lifelong believer or taking your very first steps toward faith, you will find a warm welcome here. We gather not as perfect people, but as people in need of a perfect Savior — and that makes all the difference.

Our services are traditional and reverent, honoring the great hymns and Scriptures of the faith, while remaining relevant to the real lives our community members live every day in Spencer, West Virginia.

What We Believe

Rooted in Scripture.
Grounded in Grace.

As a Church of the Nazarene, our faith is grounded in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition — a theology of grace, transformation, and the belief that God's love reaches every person.

The Holy Trinity

We believe in one God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — eternally existing in three persons, holy and sovereign over all creation.

📖

The Authority of Scripture

The Bible is the inspired Word of God — our ultimate guide for faith, life, and salvation. We preach and teach from Scripture every week.

🕊

Salvation by Grace

Every person can be saved through faith in Jesus Christ. God's grace is freely offered to all — none are too broken, too far gone, or too lost.

🔥

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit — transforming believers into the image of Christ and empowering the church for ministry.

🙏

The Power of Prayer

Prayer is not a ritual — it is a relationship. We believe God hears and answers prayer, and we gather regularly to seek His face together.

🌿

Holiness of Life

We are called to live holy lives — not by our own strength, but by the grace of God working in us each and every day.

Family & Children

Raising the Next
Generation in Faith

We believe the church is a family — and that means every generation matters. From the youngest child to the oldest saint, there is a place for you here at Spencer Church of the Nazarene.

Our heart is to see children and families rooted in the Word of God from an early age, equipped to live out their faith in the real world.

Dusty Bibles

Returning to the Rock in a Digital Age

We upgraded our phones. But did we upgrade our faith? In a world of constant notifications, endless scrolling, and cultural noise, many believers feel spiritually scattered — connected to everything, yet anchored to nothing.

“Technology is not the enemy. Drift is. The Rock has not moved. The question is: Are you standing on Him?”

Through Scripture, honest reflection, and practical application, Dusty Bibles is a pastoral call back to what does not move — not with condemnation, but with clarity. Not with anger, but with hope.

This Book Will Help You
Identify distraction and spiritual drift
Recognize modern idols quietly competing for your trust
Reorder daily habits around God's Word
Embrace stillness in a restless culture
Establish rhythms of rest and renewal
Build a foundation that withstands cultural storms
Includes

A built-in 30-Day “Clear the Dust” Companion Devotional and a personal Covenant Commitment — moving beyond inspiration into transformation. Now available in a Second Edition.

“He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.” — Psalm 62:6
